3D Modeling

Working in the virtual space means that I need to at least have a basic understanding of how the models are made, so here are some of the projects I've made in my 3D modeling course!

Lo-Fi Girl Room - Maya
For my first 3D modeling project I re-created the room from a pop-culture artwork known as "Lo-Fi Girl".

Some of the greatest challenges were learning how to get the lighting just right, as well as making a variety of different objects to make the room look like a cluttered student's desk.

Pikachu on an Office Chair - Maya
Creating a round cartoon mouse in 3D from nothing but cubes was incredibly difficult.

I learned how even round models can start out as nothing but a bunch of cubes and it was a difficult process to make the Pikachu's head not look like it was caving in. The office chair was much easier, but overall I really like how the piece turned out!

Choncc Character - Z-Brush
Being able to try a completely new way of modeling with Z-Brush was scary at first but turned out to be quite fun!

Of course, it took getting used to a more sculpting technique rather than trying to mold a cube into the desired shape like in Maya, but I feel like I had a lot more creative freedom with how I could paint and shape the model quickly with the brushes!
